Born: 1976

Interests: epigenetics

I did my PhD at the University of Queesland, Brisbane, Australia on molecular genetics of legume nodulation in the model plant Lotus japonicus. My first post doc was with CSIRO (Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization) in Canberra on Polycomb action in plants and the epigenetic memory of winter (vernalization) in Arabidopsis thaliana. I am currently doing a second post doc at Nara Institute of Science and Technology, Nara, Japan on identification of novel enzymes for DNA de-methylation in the context of endosperm development and gene imprinting in Arabidopsis thaliana.

Selected publications:
• Nakamura M, Buzas DM, Kato A, Fujita M, Kurata N, Kinoshita T. . The role of Arabidopsis thaliana NAR1, a cytosolic iron-sulfur cluster assembly component, in gametophytic gene expression and oxidative stress responses in vegetative tissue. New Phytologist, 199 (4), pp. 925-35, 2013.
