Interests: epigenetics, cervical cancer, miRNA, DNA methylation

My name is Anca Botezatu and I am working at 'Stefan S. Nicolau' Institute of Virology, Bucharest, Romania.
My scientific work consists in identification of epigenetics mechanism involved in cervical cancer development.
I am specialized in the study of genome physiology, in epigenetic modifications and gene regulation mechanisms, not only in oncogenesis, but in ageing process and rare disease.
My attention is focused on analyses of global genome methylation status, tumor suppressor gene promoter hypermethylation including miRNA genes functions.
