Present academic position:
since 2001 - certified neurologist and researcher at "Prof. Al. Obregia" Clinical Hospital of Psychiatry, Bucharest, Romania. Since 2009 - Head of the Psychiatric Research Lab (same hospital)
since 2001 - researcher, "Victor Babes" National Institute of Pathology (Bucharest, Romania)
Relevant research work:
• Clinical cytogenetics, mainly in relation with neurodevelopmental diseases
• Experimental research activities in 5 projects dealing with the genetics of rare chromosomal diseases, psychomotor retardation in children, human reproductive failure, hemato-oncology (4 in various National Research programs, 1 bilateral cooperation project)
• Coordinator of 6 research projects on the genetics of mental retardation in children within various National Research Programs, among which:
a) Integration of molecular techniques for diagnosis of dystrophinopahties in prospect for therapeutic and prophylactic strategies
b) Promotion of research development in Pediatric Neurology in order to participate at the European research projects
c) Clinical, biochimical and cytogenetics approach of neurogenetic diseases for initiation of regional register for follow-up of pediatric neurological diseases
d) Multidisciplinary researches - clinical, cytogenetics and molecular - in syndromes of mental retardation associated with congenital anomalies: contributions at knowledge and management of rare diseases
