Iulian Boldea was born on the 2 nd of March 1963 in Ludus, the Mures County. He graduated the Al. Papiu-Ilarian High school in Tg. Mures in 1981 and the Babes-Bolyai University in Cluj in 1989 (with the specialty Romanian-French). He became Phd. in Romanian Literature in 1996, with a thesis about Ion Luca Caragiale and Mateiu Caragiale. He is teaching at the Petru Maior University in Tg. Mures, where he has received the title of professor in 2002.
He has published the following books: "Carte de vise" / "Dream-book" (1994), "Metamorfozele textului" / "The Text's Metamorphoses"(1996), "Dimensiuni critice" / "Critical Dimensions"(1998), "Faþa si reversul textului" / "The Face and the Reverse of the Text"(1998), "Ana Blandiana.Monografie" / "Ana Blandiana. Monograph."(2000), "Timp ºi temporalitate in opera lui Eminescu" / "Time and Temporality in Eminescu's works"(2000), "Scriitori romani contemporani" / "Contemporary Romanian Writers"(2002), "Poezia clasica ºi romantica" / "The Classical and Romantic Poetry"(2002) and "Simbolism, modernism, tradiþionalism, avangarda" / "Symbolism, modernism, traditionalism, avant-garde"(2002).
He is a constant contributor to the major literary magazines in Romania: "Romania Literara", "Luceafarul", "Tribuna", "Familia", "Poesis", "Euphorion", "Convorbiri Literare", "Echinox", "Cuvantul", "Vatra", "Tarnava".
